Why is mould prevention better than cure?
If you look at it from a dollar value it costs far less to prevent something from happening, rather than trying to cure the problem.
I will use our current mould cleaning job as a good example at the time of writing this post.
This house previously had a mould issue, which wasn’t dealt with properly, whether this was known or unknown to the previous cleaners or landlord is anyone’s guess, but the method used created an even bigger issue because there was a potential failure from previous cleaners to assess the issue properly and use something that actually killed mould.
We were informed bleach/chlorinated products were used, which is a big no-no for killing mould. It may remove it, but it doesn’t kill it, and finally, it doesn’t kill airborne spores. This is a proven fact, and I’ve seen many houses that used it and created a bigger problem.
All this did was spread the mould around on the surface, and then it was painted over, which spread the live spores even further.
Until you also kill those, it remains a breeding ground.
Now we have a major mould problem, so bad it’s almost growing on every surface, blinds, inside kitchen cupboards, windows, and even furniture, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s growing in the carpet, which the diffuser should address, along with a deep clean.
So what has this cost?
- Another mould clean
- Repaint
- Cost of replacement of blinds
- The possibility of replacing part of the kitchen cupboards because of the extent of the mould.
So it has cost twice as much in the end, the biggest cost isn’t the money; it’s cost someone’s health. People have been known to die from living in mouldy environments, so my apologies for pushing hard on this subject, but there needs to be some education, and we are passionate about people’s health.
Always seek sound advice, and always be willing to spend a bit more to get it done properly. It’s far more economical long term.
So in conclusion, the price may be good, but are you getting a good long-term outcome?
Our aim is to give you the best possible outcome, our long-term vision is to give you good solid results on all our services.

Remember, prevention of mould is better than trying to cure it.
Did you know…
Typically there are two conditions required for mould to grow and to multiply and spread ( One square inch of visible mould can be up to >55,000,000! ):
1. 60% humidity/moisture present
2. Dust left untouched.
That’s it. In 48-hours mould can grow under the right conditions, dust and moisture creates a perfect breeding ground for mould.
Mould is also an invisible danger, if you can smell a mouldy, musty wet smell in your premises, there is a good chance you have mould in high concentrations.
Taking action quickly and proactively reduces potential issues for residents and owners alike.
We also use a qualified builder and one of our cleaning technicians for our inspections to give you the best possible solution to remediate and rectify mould issues.
