In this short blog, we will go through some tips on taking care of your cleaning equipment.
- Mops: Too often, I’ve seen mops being used dirty and filthy, and then people wonder why their floors aren’t getting clean, and they will smell!!Tip: Carry multiple spares and wash mop heads in detergent and Dettol at the end of every shift. This keeps them fresh and they will last longer.
- Cloths: If you use microfiber cloths, it’s good to wash them regularly. We wash all our used cloths daily in detergent and Dettol to keep them hygienic and clean.
- Vacuum Cleaners: Keeping these serviced and filters cleaned regularly will give them maximum performance. Check and change the bag when it’s full; I have seen them full, and people wonder why it’s lost suction power. Some vacuums have multiple filters and require changing out every 6-12 months, depending on manufacturer recommendations.
Taking care of your equipment is important, as this can affect the performance and life of your equipment, and also prolong how long the cleaning takes.
Take care of your equipment, and it will take care of you.
