The decision behind walls and blinds

The decision behind walls and blinds

by | Feb 22, 2023

As some may have noticed, we changed our protocol on walls and blinds in bond cleaning and blinds in general.

The decision behind walls and blinds:

Blinds: We no longer do deep cleaning as it can cause damage and comes with a risk, and we have deemed it a liability. To clarify, we do get cobwebs and give a light dust if needed, but no longer deep/heavy cleaning, steam cleaning, wet wiping, etc.

Walls: We still do walls but are not part of our standard protocol for bond & vacate cleans. A major influence for this decision is walking into bomb sites and people not being transparent about the condition of walls. In these instances, if we are unaware of the condition, they will be done after the agent’s inspection. If they require attention, it will be at our minimum rate for walls.

We also deem both these items as secondary, not primary and priority like the rest of the house. Extra time has to be allocated to do walls or blinds when we book cleans. We book according to the minimum time for a standard bond clean for the particular house size. Walls and heavy cleaning are not factored in unless we have done a full inspection and added it to the quote, or real estate agents have requested it as part of the work order.

In saying that, inspecting a house that is full of furniture, we will never know the full extent of the walls, and it can be quite an unknown until it’s fully vacated.

Whatever we quote you is unseen and excluding walls, so be aware of that, and be aware of the extra cost of doing walls.

These two particular areas we encourage maintaining at all times, as they can be the two biggest budget killers in a bond clean.
